Question
I live in Ohio and paid for a puppy supposedly from a breeder in Colorado. I didn’t receive the puppy and they have my $1000.00. I have screenshots of every bit of correspondence. What are my rights?
Answer
Next time, consider adoption! Buying an animal online can be very risky. People who are owed money can sue. The Colorado Attorney General and other law enforcement agencies can also be contacted. They may do an investigation. Sometimes investigations result in restitution. The Better Business Bureau can also be contacted. Sadly, scams of this kind have become more common. Buyers beware.
