Sandra Atlas Bass Continues to Change Lives
Renowned philanthropist Sandra Atlas Bass has been a vital partner of North Shore Animal League America for decades. Chair of the Lewyt Humane Awards Luncheon, Ms. Bass provides invaluable support to many of our events and initiatives, driven by her deep sense of compassion and belief in our mission. “North Shore Animal League America does wonderful work, where the animals always come first,” said Ms. Bass. “I’ve known Animal League America since they were very small and have seen them grow beautifully.”
Her desire to make the world a better place includes concern for both animals and people. Most recently, our Long Island community celebrated the opening of the Sandra Atlas Bass Otolaryngology Center, an 18,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, comprehensive care facility in New Hyde Park, NY. A longtime benefactor of Northwell Health, Ms. Bass provided a significant donation to establish the center, which will improve the lives of patients while also advancing the science of head and neck conditions. “This new center is so important to the health and wellbeing of our communities because it will play a critical role in our ability to communicate and connect with others,” said Ms. Bass.
We continue to be inspired by the generous philanthropy of our NSALA family member, and are tremendously grateful for the impact Ms. Bass has had on the lives of so many homeless animals.
